This refers to the inspection of activities.being performed in con-junction with your proposed Comanche Peak Project, Docket Nos. 50--
445 and 50-446, conducted by Messrs. Crossman, Stewart, and Hubacek during the period July 18 and 19, 1974, and to the discussion of our findings with Messrs. Schmidt, Caudle, and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection was limited to the Quality Assurance aspects of your design and construction activities as they relate to the safe shutdown impoundment dam, and to compliance with the Commission's rules and' regulations in this area. The inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews of personnel, and observations by our inspectors.
Within the scope of the inspection, certain deficient areas were disclosed.
These areas are identified in Section VII of the Summary of the enclosed report.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice",
Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter

and the anclosed inspection report will be p1*eed in the AEC's Public Document Room.
If this report contains any information that you believe to be proprietary, it is necessary that you submit a written application to this office, within 20 days of the date of this letter, requesting that such information be withheld from public disclosure. The application must include a full statement of the reasons why it is claimed that the information is proprietary.
