Complete By letter dated May 23, 1994 and a teleconference for clarification on August 23, 1995, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL), the licensee for St. Lucie Unit 1, proposed to change their Technical Specifications (TS). Specifically, the changes are proposed for TS 3.5.2, " Emergency Core Cooling Systems (ECCS)," to remove the option that allows High Pressure Safety Injection (HPSI) Pump IC to be used as an alternative to the preferred HPSI pump for subsystem operability.
i The Reactor Safety Branch has reviewed the licensee's submittal and approves the proposed change. The staff Safety Evaluation is included as Attachment I and our Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance is included as.
This concludes our efforts on TAC NO. M89641.
