OIG ALLEGATION 2608 REGARDING A PROBLEM WITH THE PUBLIC ALERT SYSTEM AT PORT ST. LUCIE. FLORIDA

This is in reference to your memorandum dated December 20, 1995. in which you referred an allegation received at your office from an anonymous caller on December 17. 1995. The caller indicated that an unclear announcement was made on the aublic alert system during testing which caused concern in Port St.

4 Lucie. :lorida.

We received the allegation from your office on December 26, 1995, and conducted an Allegation Review Board (ARB) meeting on December 28, 1995.

Resolution of this matter was assigned to our Division of Reactor Safety which has scheduled an inspection for the week of February 5.1996.
