Dear Mr. Goodwin:

The Comission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 44 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-1 for Trojan Nuclear Plant. The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated December 24, 1979, as supplemented March 4 and 17,1980.

The amendment revises power distribution and c.; :ol rod insertion limits for the reactor core.

Copies of the Safety Evaluatlon and the Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.
