This special, announced inspection involved 17 inspector-hours onsite in the
area of followup of licensee response to Hurricane David.

The inspection scope and findings were summarized on September 5, 1979 with
those persons indicated in Paragraph 1 above.

Unresolved items were not identified during this inspection.
5.
Followup to Licensee's Response to Hurricane David
The inspector was dispatched to the site in order to verify the licensee's
preparedness for possible damage due to Hurricane David. The inspector
reviewed Standing Order No. 2, Hurricane Warning Check Off Sheet. The
licensee was performing periodic tests on all safety related pumps and the
diesel generators to verify operation. The inspector was in contact with
the Region II Office on an hourly basis in order to recieive an update of
the weather conditions and to track the hurricane. The inspector also
verified that enough security, maintenance and engineering personnel were
available onsite in the event the weather conditions worsened. The licen
see shut down the plant to Hot Shutdown at approximately 1:30 a.m. on
September 5, 1979 as a precaution due to the worsening weather situation.
No damage was done to the plant during the storm. The plant was returned
to power at 10:30 a.m. on September 5, 1979.
