REQUEST FOR ADDITTIONAL INFORMATION REVISED REACTOR VESSEL INTEGRITY AGING MANAGEMENT PROGRAM BEAVER VALLEY POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION, AMENDMENT1 RAI B.2.35-1 In order to ensure compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 50, Appendix G, Appendix H, and 10 CFR 50.61, through the end of the period of extended operation, it is necessary that any standby surveillance capsules removed from the reactor vessel (RV) be made available for future use if the need for additional surveillance test data arises. These standby surveillance capsules play an important role in the RV material surveillance program. They are irreplaceable because they have been subjected to a unique radiation exposure history, and the potential need for supplemental surveillance test data necessitates that these capsules be maintained in a condition that would permit their future use. Therefore, the staff requests that the applicant provide a formal commitment to store and maintain standby surveillance capsules in a condition that would permit their future use through the end of the period of extended operation.
