805 TRANSITION PILOT PROGRAM OBSERVATION VISITNOVEMBER 2005 TRIP REPORTAttached is the trip report from the first observation visit of pilot plants transitioning to the newrisk-informed, performance-based fire protection licensing basis in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 50.48(c) (National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 805Rule). The trip occurred November 7 through 10, 2005, at Duke Power headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina and progress briefings were provided from the two utilities withtransitioning pilot plants; Duke Power for Oconee Nuclear Station and Progress Energy for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant. A summary of the meeting is provided in the enclosed trip report and the agenda and handouts from the meeting are provided as attachments. This trip report will be publically available to provide lessons learned to those non-pilot plants transitioningNFPA 805. The next observation visit is scheduled for March 27 to 30, 2006 at Progress Energyheadquarters in Raleigh, NC.
