SUBJECT:
NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION - NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000220/2007404 AND 05000410/2007404
Dear Mr. Polson:
On August 9, 2007, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission completed an inspection at your Nine Mile Point Nuclear Power Station. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection results which were discussed on August 9, 2007, with Mr. T. Syrell and others of your staff.
This inspection examined activities conducted under your licenses as they relate to safety, common defense and security, and compliance with NRC Orders related to the transportation of radioactive material and the handling of safeguards information. The inspection was based upon Temporary Instruction (TI) 2201/001 - Inspection of Additional Security Measures for Radioactive Material Quantities of Concern (RAMQC). The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel.
Based on the results of this inspection, no violations were identified. No reply to this letter is required.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter, its enclosure, and your response (if any) will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component for the NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
