& SUPPLIES EMERGENCY PROCEDURE A-07, REV. 2 Issue Date: 11/06/97 1.0 PURPOSE This procedure provides a process for maintaining emergency equipment and supplies in a state of readiness.
2.0 POLICY AND SCOPE Responsibilities for maintaining emergency equipment and supplies will be assigned to members of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
Equipment and supplies will be inspected routinely and maintained in a state of readiness and dependability.

2, 11/06/97 6.3 The Emergency Program Administrator is responsible for:

- assuring that quarterly inspections /overchecks of emergency

equipment and supplies are performed to assure availability and dependability of same;
- maintaining and providing up-to-date inventory listings of i
all emergency equipment and supplies; i
- assigning additional inspections /overchecks to supplement those required quarterly.
6.4 The ERO is responsible for assuring that any and all emergency equipment and supplies used in training, drills, exercises or actual emergencies are replenished and placed in j
their proper location in a state of readiness for the next j
use.
6.5 The Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining the emergency vehicles and trailer in safe and reliable condition in accordance with preventive maintenance procedures.
7.0 PROCEDURE sw.

7.1* Verify equipment availability and condition in accordance with inventory listing maintained by the Emergency Program Administrator.
7.2 Correct any deficiencies
- noted, especially filling of depleted SCBA air tanks and breathing air supply bottles.
7.3 Immediately notify Emergency Program Administrator if a
deficiency is noted which could result in failure to effectively respond to an emergency situation.
7.4 Initiate corrective actions for any deficiency which cannot be corrected during the inspection.
7.5 Properly apply numbered seal as applicable to the emergency equipment container or vehicle when the inspection is completed.
7.6* Note your activity at any inspection site by filling out the EMEFGENCY EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES SEAL USAGE LOG.

- Quarterly. inventory /overcheck is required for all emergency equipment.
- Monthly inventory /overcheck is required for HEALTH PHYSICS l
EMERGENCY CABINETS and all active SCBA UNITS.
- Periodic overchecks of the EMERGENCY SUPPLIES STORAGE BUILDING (Sea / Land Container), UF6 BAY CABINET, FIRE TRUCK and HAZMAT RESPONSE TRUCK will be conducted by REO.
- Evidence of a broken or unverifiable tamper seal requires l
that an inventory be taken of the emergency equipment at hand.
8.2 INSTRUCTIONS
- Assure that each item inspected is in workable condition and usable in an emergency response.
- Report any discrepancies to the Emergency Program Administrator.

8.3 SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBA UNITS)
(
- SCBA units must be in the storage racks provided and readily accessible for use.
- Units must be clean (no dirt, dust or contamination).
- Each air cylinder must read in the " FULL" range on the air pressure gauge.
- Each SCBA unit must be accompanied by a clean facepiece assembly totally functional and properly stored.
- Harness assemblies must be in good condition.
- Regulators and warning devices must function properly.
8.4 RECORDS
- SEAL USAGE LOGS and INVENTORY OVERCHECK SHEETS for emergency equipment will be maintained by the Emergency Program Administrator.
