Rev. 1 Refueling Platform B 3.9.3 B 3.9.3 Refueling Platform BASES TRO The refueling platform is used for handling control rods and fuel assemblies as well as other core components within the reactor pressure vessels, fuel pools and cask storage pit.
The refueling platform is made 1,.1p of the following components and may be
- used on either unit.
- 1) A triangular telescoping mast with redundant grapple hooks.
- 2) A rigid platform that spans the reactor cavity and fuel pools. This platform supports the hoists and is capable of traveling the full length of the refuel floor.
- 3) A trolley assembly capable of traveling the width of the fuel pools which supports the mast, its controls and one of the two auxiliary hoists.
- 4) A monorail hoist and wet lift rigid pole system used for vessel component disassembly also capable of traveling the full width of the fuel pools. The wet lift rigid pole system is removable and has no interlocks associated with it.
