SUBJECT:

HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION - SUPPLEMENT TO APPLICATION FOR EXTENDED POWER UPRATE (TAC NO. MD3002)

Dear Mr. Levis:

By letter dated September 18, 2006, PSEG Nuclear LLC submitted an application for an extended power uprate (EPU) for the Hope Creek Generating Station. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has reviewed the application and determined that it needs additional information to complete the technical review of the off-site dose consequences from design-basis events. During a conference call on October 10, 2006, members of your staff stated that they would submit the additional information, in the form of dose calculations, by October 20, 2006. The NRC staff has determined that this information is not needed to complete the acceptance review of the application. The NRC staff appreciates your responsiveness in providing the additional information.

If you have questions about the NRC staffs review of the EPU application, you can contact me at (301) 415-1321 or snb@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/
