Inspection of Hydraulic Shock Absorbers (Snubbersi R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No.1 Do'cket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Goller:
In accordance with Mr. Skovholt's letter of October 1,1973 concerning periodic inspection of hydraulic shock absorbers (snubbers), the hydraulic snubber units located outside the containment were insoected on Februarv
, 28, 1975. All units were determined to be operable.
1 Hydraulic fluid was added to the reservoirs of two of the Bergen-Paterson units outside the containment. One of these units had leakage indicated at the accumulator "tell-tale" rod, indicating piston seal leakage. This is a rebuilt unit with ethylene propolene seals and a rebuilt accumulator
, supplied by Bergen-Paterson, that was installed last month. This unit l will be inspected during the present refueling shutdown. The other unit is scheduled to be rebuilt during the present refueling shutdown with' ethylene-propolene seals. i 1
