In the letter dated July 31, 1979 on the embed assemblies for the Vogtle Nuclear Plant - Units 1 & 2, Georgia Power Company indicated an interim report would be submitted by October 1, 1979. Since our last report a sample of bolts in the embeds have been subjected to pull tests. No sample bolt failed the pull test. Based upon analysis of the test data, and by calculations accordir.g to ASTM E-122-72 " Standard Recommended Practice for Claim of Sample Size to Estimate the Average Quality of a Lot or Process," a high confidence level can be exhibited for the remaining bolts in the embeds.

GM-509 Attn: Mr. James P. O'Reilly Gentlemen:

The above test data will allow the completion of the potential signi-ficant deficiency analysis. Georgia Power Company will submit a final report on this subject to the NRC no later than November 15, 1979.
