In the letter dated June 1, 1979 on the embed assemblies for the Vcgtle Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2, Georgia Power Company indicated an interim report would be submitted by August 1, 1979. Since the June 1, 1979 status report on the potential significant deficiency, Georgia Power Company has poured a test block with embed plates. Pull tests have been conducted on these embed plates and also on individual bolts. The test data was sent to the designer for analysis and has resulted in a modification to the pull test procedures. Currently, embed testing is scheduled to begin on August 1, 1979. Additionally, Georgia Power Company has been perfonning repairs on the embeds.
At this time, Georgia Power Company is unable to establish a definite completion date for the final report. An additional update and a date for the final report will be provided by October 1,1979.
