On February 20, 2014, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued the subject inspection report for the Surry Power Station Units 1 and 2 (ML14057A819 (OUO) ML14057A824 (OUO Removed)).
On January 16, 2014, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed an inspection at your Surry Power Station using Temporary Instruction 2515/186, Inspection of Procedures and Processes for Responding to Potential Aircraft Threats. On January 16, 2014, the NRC inspector discussed the results of this inspection with Mr. Doug Lawrence and other members of your staff. The inspector documented the results of this inspection in the enclosed inspection report.
In reviewing this report, we identified an administrative error regarding the inspection report numbers.


The inspection report numbers listed as 05000280/2014402 and 05000281/2014402 have been changed to 05000280/201404 and 05000281/201404. Please make the appropriate pen and ink change in the subject report to reflect this change. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The objective of this inspection was to assess the implementation procedures and processes of Surry Power Station that are required by Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR),
Part 50.54(hh)(1), which provides the requirements for responding to a potential aircraft threat.


In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice a copy of this letter, will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
The results from this inspection, along with the results from this inspection performed at other operating commercial nuclear plants in the United States, will be used to evaluate the U.S.

If you choose to provide a response and Security-Related Information is necessary to provide an acceptable response, please mark your entire response Security-Related Information - Withhold from public disclosure under 10 CFR 2.390 in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) and follow the instructions for withholding in 10 CFR 2.390 (b)(1).
 
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1)(ii), the NRC is waiving the affidavit requirements for your response contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.

INSPECTION REPORT 05000280/2014402 AND 05000281/2014402

Dear Mr. Heacock:

On January 16, 2014, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed an inspection at your Surry Power Station using Temporary Instruction 2515/186, Inspection of Procedures and Processes for Responding to Potential Aircraft Threats. On January 16, 2014, the NRC inspector discussed the results of this inspection with Mr. Doug Lawrence and other members of your staff. The inspector documented the results of this inspection in the enclosed inspection report.

The objective of this inspection was to assess the implementation procedures and processes of Surry Power Station that are required by Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR),
