OF PUBLIC MEETING On April 13, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., a public annual assessment meeting was conducted between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives from Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (Pilgrim) at the Hotel 1620 at Plymouth Harbor in Plymouth, MA.
 
During the meeting, NRC staff provided an overview of inspection activities and overall performance assessment for the station for calendar year 2015. Pilgrim representatives provided a presentation to discuss their operating performance and site focus areas since the last annual assessment meeting. After the presentations, a discussion was held between the NRC and Pilgrims staff regarding the stations performance improvement initiatives while in the Repetitive Degraded Cornerstone Column of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix.

Following the discussion of plant performance, the NRC held a question and answer session, during which interested stakeholders were able to ask questions or make statements in a public forum. The NRC staff responded to a number of questions from members of the public, including concerns about the stations performance; security; decommissioning activities and funding; and Pilgrims commitment to safe operation until their cessation of operation.
During the meeting, NRC staff provided an overview of inspection activities and overall performance assessment for the station for calendar year 2015. Pilgrim representatives provided a presentation to discuss their operating performance and site focus areas since the last annual assessment meeting. After the presentations, a discussion was held between the NRC and Pilgrim's staff regarding the station's performance improvement initiatives while in the Repetitive Degraded Cornerstone Column of the NRC's Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix.
