Dear Mr. Bologna:
The NRC has completed its end-of-cycle performance assessment of Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 a nd 2 , reviewing performance indicators (PIs), inspection results , and enforcement actions from January 1, 2017 , through December 31, 2017. This l etter informs you of the NRC's assessment o f y our facility during this period and its pl ans for future inspections at your facilit y. The NRC concluded that overall performance at your facility pr eserved public health and safet y. T he NRC determi ned the performance at Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2 , during the most recent quarter w as within the Licensee Response Colum n (Colum n 1) o f t he NRC's React or Oversight Process (ROP) Action Matrix in Inspection Manual Chapter 0305, "Operating Reactor Assessment Program," because all inspecti on findings had very low sa fety significance (i.e., Green), and all PIs were within the expected rang e (i.e., Green). Therefore, the NRC pl ans t o conduct ROP baseline inspections at y our facilit y. The enclosed inspecti on plan lists t he inspections scheduled through December 31 , 2019. This updated inspecti on plan now i ncludes pl anned security inspections which wer e formerly transmitted under separate correspondence.
T he NRC provides the inspection plan to allow for t he resolution of any scheduling conflicts and personnel availability issues. Routine inspections performed by r esident inspectors are not included in the inspection pl an. The inspections listed during the l ast twelve months o f the inspection plan are t entative and may be revised.
The NRC will contact y ou as soo n as possible to discuss changes t o t he inspection plan should circumstances w arrant a ny changes. The N RC w ill al so be performi ng TI-19 1, "Inspection of Li censee's R esponses t o Order EA-12-04 9, E A-12-05 1 and EP Info Request M arch 12, 2012i n the first quarter o f 2018.
