The letter attachment states, "The systems at SONGS are analyzed for complete submergence to a depth of 125 feet... I request a copy of the analysis's results and assumptions, including the temperature and cask and flood water salinity. I also request the assumed temperature of the spent fuel cask. I would also appreciate an indication of how much time the spent fuel casks were submerged in this high-salinity water.
After the test or analysis, I also request an evaluation of the cask's integrity subsequent to the analysis.

Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest Week Ending June 7, 2024 Public Meeting to Discuss Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPOs) Training Program Accreditation On June 5, 2024, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation staff held an observation (category 2) public meeting with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) to discuss items of mutual interest concerning INPO's training program accreditation process and other initiatives. Topics discussed included the updated INPO accreditation process, the effectiveness review of NUREG 1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, revision 12, Palisades restart activities, INPOs accreditation for small modular reactors, and industry learning activities. No decisions or new agreements were made during this informational meeting. This meeting was conducted in accordance with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission/INPO Memorandum of Agreement dated December 1, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23026A93).

On June 3, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission published a notice in the Federal Register (89 FR 47439) confirming the effective date of July 3, 2024, for the direct final rule that was published in the Federal Register (88 FR 74019) April 19, 2024. This direct final rule amended the Westinghouse Electric Company LLC FuelSolutionsTM. Spent Fuel Management System listing within the List of approved spent fuel storage casks to renew the initial certificate and Amendment Nos. 1 through 4 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1026.
