Items of Interest Week Ending NOVEMBER 8, 2019 NRC Grants a Partial Fee Waiver to Entergy Operations for a Digital Instrumentation and Control Modification License Amendment Request at Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 On October 30, 2019, the Office of the Chief Financial Officer approved a partial fee waiver to Entergy Operations, Inc., in response to a request submitted under 10 CFR 170.11 (b) for NRC review of a license amendment request (LAR) for a digital instrumentation and control modification at Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3. The staff determined that the review of the proposed LAR meets the applicable criteria in the regulation for public interest, in part, because the application is expected to be the first to use a new licensing approach.
Staff Issues Information Notice 2019-09, "Spent Fuel Cask Movement Issues" On October 30, 2019, the staff issued information notice (IN) 2019-09, "Spent Fuel Cask Movement Issues" (ADAMS Accession No. ML19043A734), to alert licensees about recent issues related to spent fuel cask movement. This IN requires no action or written response on the part of an addressee.
