In the referenced letter, the NRC documented a finding and apparent violations involving transportation of a radioactive material package as Low Specific Activity-II (LSA-11) that exceeded the LSA shipplng limits for radiation levels as specified in 49 CFR 173.427.
The referenced letter requested verbal and written notification within 10 days of the date of the referenced letter stating NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC ("NextEra")'s intention to (1) request a Regulatory Conference to present to the NRC NextEra's perspective on the facts and assumptions the NRC used to arrive at the finding and assess its significance, or (2) submit NextEra's position on the finding to the NRC in writing.
This letter confirms the NextEra conversation with the NRC staff held on August 12, 2020 of our intent to submit a written position on the finding to the NRC within 40 days of the receipt of the referenced letter.
