SAFETY EVALUATION FOR THE U.S. SFR OWNER, LLC., CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION FOR THE KEMMERER POWER STATION, UNIT 1 (EPID NO.: L-2024-CPS-0000)
Dear Mr. Wilson:
This letter is to inform you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the safety evaluation (SE) for the Kemmerer Power Station, Unit 1 construction permit (CP) application. The CP application was submitted by letter dated March 28, 2024, by TerraPower, LLC (TerraPower), on behalf of its wholly-owned subsidiary U.S. SFR Owner, LLC., (USO) (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24088A060).
The enclosed SE is provided to USO for information and will be submitted to the Commission in preparation for the mandatory (uncontested) hearing. The SE has also been placed in the public document room and has been made publicly available in ADAMS under accession number ML25329A252. The NRC staffs issuance of this SE does not constitute a commitment to issue the construction permit.
