SL2 NFV SFP LAR - Final RAIs.docx Good Afternoon,

On June 25, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued draft Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) to Florida Power & Light Company (FPL, the licensee). The RAIs are related to the licensees submittal, dated April 30, 2024, (Agencywide Documents and Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession Nos.ML122A689 (Non-Proprietary) and ML24122A727 (Proprietary), regarding proposed changes to the Technical Specifications (TS), for St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, Unit 2. The proposed license amendment would revise the St. Lucie, Unit 2 Technical Specification (TS) 3.7.15, Spent Fuel Pool Storage, and TS 4.3, Fuel Storage, to support updated spent fuel pool (SFP) and new fuel vault (NFV) criticality analyses which account for the impact of a proposed transition to 24-month fuel cycles on fresh and spent fuel storage at the St. Lucie, Unit 2 facility.

On July 2, 2025, the NRC and FPL held a conference call to clarify the Draft RAIs. At the conclusion of the call, FPL informed the NRC staff that the information requested was understood and that no additional clarification of the RAIs was necessary. A publicly available version of this final RAI (with the term Draft removed) will be placed in ADAMS. As agreed, please provide a response to the specified RAIs within 30 days of this correspondence.
