Dear Santiago Rodgriguez,
Urenco USA has requested NRC approval of a license amendment request to allow the further enrichment of uranium-235 to no more than 10 weight percent at its uranium enrichment facility in Lea County, New Mexico. The NRC staff has prepared a draft environmental assessment (EA) of the potential environmental impacts of this proposed license amendment. Please review the draft EA and provide any comments to me by November 27, 2024.
The draft EA is not publicly available, is limited for use by the staff of the NMED, and should not be disclosed without prior NRC permission. The attached document will require a password to open - I will send the password separately.
