ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE (NEI) LETTER STATUS AND WAY FORWARD ON NEI 99-04, REVISION 1
Dear Brett Titus:
By letter dated October 29, 2024, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24304A348), the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) submitted a letter titled, Status and Way Forward on NEI 99-04, Revision 1, Guidelines for Managing NRC Commitment Changes, July 31, 2023 (ML23214A262). The letter stated, in part, that Revision 1 does not change compliance with any regulatory requirements and NEI is no longer seeking NRC review and endorsement of Revision 1.
Since NEI has withdrawn the request for review and endorsement, the NRC continues to endorse the use of NEI 99-04, Rev. 0, in the managing of commitments as documented in Regulatory Issue Summary 2000-17, Managing Regulatory Commitments Made by Power Reactor Licensees to the NRC Staff, dated September 21, 2000 (ML003741774).
