No: 24-066 August 21, 2024 CONTACT: Office of Public Affairs, 301-415-8200 NRC Names New Heads of the Offices of Human Capital and Administration The Nuclear Regulatory Commission today named Jennifer Golder as the agencys Chief Human Capital Officer and James Corbett as the agencys new director of the Office of Administration. Both appointments are effective Sept. 8.
In her new role, Golder will lead the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer and manage the agencys human capital planning, policy and program development. She has been the director of the Office of Administration since December 2019 and most recently served as acting Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Corbett will be responsible for the agencys centralized services in the areas of acquisitions, facilities and security, property management, and administrative service. He has been the deputy office director in the Office of Administration since 2019 and most recently served as acting office director.
Golder joined the NRC as a program analyst in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and then held progressively more responsible positions in the offices of the Chief Financial Officer (including budget director), Chief Information Officer and the Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Programs. Prior to her most recent position, she provided executive leadership for the both the agencys hiring and training efforts and served for three years as Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer. Golders most significant accomplishments include establishing a strategy for space utilization post-COVID, introducing strategic workforce planning, and enabling the use of direct hire authority at the NRC. Prior to the NRC, Golder worked at the U.S. Customs Service, Office of Investigations.
She received a bachelors degree in communication from Old Dominion University and a masters degree in public administration from George Mason University. She is a graduate of the NRCs Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.
Corbett joined the NRC as head of the Infrastructure Operations Branch in what is now the Office of the Chief Information Officer. He held progressively more responsible information technology positions before being selected as director of the Acquisition Management Division in the Office of Administration. In 2018, he had a six-month executive rotation to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he served as the Chief Performance Officer in the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer.
Among Corbetts most notable contributions to the NRC mission are his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect agency staff, ensure uninterrupted safe and
Page l 2 secure operations, and deploying an agency-wide acquisition system that enables data-driven decision making. Before joining the NRC, Corbett worked in the financial industry.
Corbett holds a bachelors degree in political science and computer-based honors from the University of Alabama, and a masters degree in management of technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of the NRCs Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.
