Anticipated delay in completing review of ACO"s request to terminate the Lead Cascade Facility license Date:
Tuesday, April 23, 2024 8:19:00 PM
Dear Kelly Fitch,
The purpose of this e-mail is to document some of our discussions regarding our review of your submittal dated November 2, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Number ML23311A313), pertaining to American Centrifuge Operating, LLCs (ACOs) request to terminate the materials license SNM-7003 for the American Centrifuge Lead Cascade Facility (LCF) located in Piketon, Ohio.
As indicated in our January 5, 2024, acceptance for detailed review e-mail to you (ML24008A015), we had anticipated completing our review of your November 2, 2023, license termination request, under Enterprise Project Identification Number L-2023-LLA-0159, by March 1, 2024. However, on January 29, 2024, we requested ACO via e-mail to submit a completed Form 314 for the decommissioned LCF which is needed prior to our completion of the review (ML24088A117). Since this information is still pending, we have not been able to complete our review. We anticipate completing our review within 30 days of ACOs adequate submittal of Form 314 information for the LCF.
Please note, the NRC staffs estimate of 60 staff-hours, which corresponds to $18,000, remains unchanged.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you
