Dear DFM Director,
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between our agencies, I request that you review the attached Canadian Certificate of Competent Authority CDN/2101/B(U) (Rev. 0),
dated June 30, 2021, for the ISORAD-TC1 package and make a recommendation concerning our revalidation of the package for import and export use.
Please note that the ISORAD-TC1 was reviewed by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) under the guidelines of NUREG-1886 / RD-364 Joint Canada-United States Guide for Approval of Type B(U) and Fissile Material Transport Packages. ISO-RAD is requesting an expedited review based on the CNSC Type B application review.
To assist you in your review, a copy of the package design safety report for the ISORAD-TC1 Package, along with other supporting documents will be provided to your staff electronically.
