Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission (TX CIS),
To the NRC and my elected officials:
Please do not agree to the licensing of a Consolidated 'Interim' Storage (CIS) facility for nuclear power high level waste in Andrews County, Texas. Building this interim site would require hauling dangerous, high-level nuclear waste all over the country twice: Once to the interim site, then once again to a permanent siteif that is ever built. If the permanent site is not built, the interim site could become a de-facto permanent storage site. Communities in West Texas and surrounding areas would become the latest sacrifice to the nuclear industry along with all the neighborhoods along the transport routes.
Now, I do not live in West Texas, but I believe West Texans and all the rest of us should be safe from radioactive nuking when something goes wrong, either in transit (through New York State?) on on the "interim" site. Don't zap Abilene, Midland, Lubbock, Odessa!.
I ask NRC to reject the ISP license application and I ask my congressional representatives to vote no on any such proposals.
