Dear Mr. Zech:

On New Year's Day, the Davis-Besse nuclear power plant near Toledo, Ohio suffered an automatic shutdown due to an overheated water pump.

This was the second such shutdown of the Davis-Besse facility since the plant resumed operations on December 22, following an 18-month shutdown for improvements.

Due to the troubled history of this facility and the public safety factors involved, I feel compelled to demand an immediate inquiry into this matter.
