0' n office has received the draft o!eration inspection report for the V.C.-
u Summer Nuclear Power Station Servic Water Pond dams.
The report was dated August-19J1997, The draft report states -that there is no evidence of an immediate threat to the safety of the dams. Several suggestions were made to improve the maintenance and instrumentation checks for the structures.
NRC staff have reviewed tne draft document, and is in agreement with-your findings - Please note that-the correct name for the station is V.C. Summer, not "V.C. Sumner", as stated:in your draft report.
Please make the appropriate corrections to the final report document.
-Prior to issuance of ~the Final Report, we request that-if there are significant changes Mr, Wayne B. King P.E., of your office, discuss your-findings with us. JWe would appreciate receiving the final report within 30 days of the date af this letter.
