CORRECTION LETTER AND NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL - RE: AMENDMENT ISSUED ON CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE STANDARD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR BABCOCK AND WILCOX PLANTS - THREE MILE ISLAND NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 (TAC NOS. M97389 and M98522)
Dear Mr. Langenbach:
The Commission issued Amendment Nos. 211 and 212 to Facility Operating License No.
DPR-50 for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1, (TMI-1) on June 15,1999, and June 21,1999, in response to your applications dated December 3,1996, and February 7, 1997, as supplemented by letter dated October 24,1998.
The amendments incorporate certain improvements from the Standard Technical Specifications for Babcock and Wilcox plants (NUREG-1430). It has come to our attention that Technical Specification (TS) pages 3-21 and 4-9 (for Amendment No. 211) and 4-Sa,4-38, and 6-3 (for Amendment No. 212) were issued in error in that they failed to reflect previously approved changes granted by Amendment Nos. 203 and 204 (in the case of Amendment No. 211),
and 207 (in the case of amendment no. 212). Additionally, the change to page 4-38, which was withdrawn by your October 24,1998, letter was inadvertently included in the issuance of Amendment No. 212. Enclosed are corrected pages 3-21,4-Sa,4-9,4-38, and 6-3. The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Partial Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
