Docket No. 70-7001 Notification of Change in Regulatory Commitment
Dear Sir:
The purpose of this letter is to notify the Nuclear Reguh. tory Commission (NRC) of a change in the due date for a regulatory commitment. The specifics of this commitment change are provided below.

Background
USEC letter GDP 97-1043 dated November 17, 1997, submitted USEC's response to Unresolved item (URI) 70-7001/970009-01, The URI states that some of the supplementary requirements of ASME NQA-i-1989, for which an exception or alternative was not approved, may not be included in the procedures implementing the Quality Assurance Program (QAP), In response to this URI, USEC committed to NRC to take the following action:
"In order to clarify our commitmen s and avoid future misunderstandings, USEC will revise the QAP to include a commitment, attemative or exception,. including appropriate justification, for each omission identified in Attachment A. The QAP revision will be e;bmitted to the NRC by January 30,1998."
Description of Revised Commitmenf 6 USEC has changed the completion date of the above commitment te February 27,1998.

Justl&mtion for RevhM Commitment The proposed revision to the QAP has been drafted. However, USEC has determined that additional time is warranted to fulfill this commitment in order to ensure the QAP revision is complete, accurate, and has the necessary reviews and approvals.
