Enclosed is an application for an export license (XSNM3018), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export of natural and low-enriched uranium, in the form of uranium dioxide, to Japan for use as reload fuel in Fukushima I Unit 6. and Fukushima II Units 1 and 2.

Assurances from Japan are required that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an a:reement for ccoperation.

Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.

Please note that the material contains some Canadian origin source material.
