SUBJECT: NkC INSPECTION REPORT 50-361/97-23; 50 362/97 23
Dear Mr. Ray:
An NRC inspection was conducted September 28 through November 8,1997, at your San
Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 rea>: tor facihties. The enclosed report
presents the scope and results of that inspewtion.
,
During the 6-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities at the San
Onofre f acilities was generally characterized by safety-conscious operation, sound
engineering and maintenance practices, and cereful radiological work controls.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss
them with you.
