MEETING WITH UNION ELECTRIC AND FRAMATOME TECHNOLOGIES REGARDING THE INSTALLATION OF FRAMATOME ELECTROSLEEVES IN THE CALLAWAY UNIT 1 STEAM GENERATORS On December 9. 1997, a meeting was held with Union Electric. Framatome Technologies, Inc. (FTI) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to discuss the electrosleeving process in support of a Union Electric proposed technical specification amendment that would allow electrosleeving of the steam generator tubes at the Callaway Plant.
The meeting was held at the NRC offices in Rockville. Maryland.
The purpose of the meeting was to continue the review of previous submittals related to the electrosleeving process.
Questions regarding the non-destructive examination (NDE) analysis were reviewed.
Meeting topics included discussions related to the methodology used to perform ultrasonic (UT) examination of tubes and the disposition of tubes which had sigificant defect size undercalls using these UT techniques.
The schedule for the NRC review of the amendment request was also discussed.
