Duties included, in addition to operating a nuclear submarine, being the Preventive Maintenance Supervisor, which entailed scheduling all the maintenance performed by a seventeen man division, and insuring it was done promptly and correctly. Duty section leader, having to coordinate the work for ten to twelve men each duty day during refit. Also held the position of Assistant Quality Assurance Supervisor for the same division which involved the overseeing of maintenance of vital equipment on the ship, insuring that proper materials r
were used and submitting the documentation.
During plant operations, stood watch as Engine Room Supervisor which is the direct supervision of a watch (duty) section, and also performed chemistry analysis on the secondary plant.
