Attached is the latest status of the responses to all of your questions on the stiff clamps.

This is an update to Attachment 1 of the Reference 1 letter.

In Reference 1, the Supply System discussed the desirability of presenting the Summary Evaluation Report to the NRC formally and in person.

As indicated in Reference 2, it is our belief that resolution of this issue will benefit both the Supply System and NRC by documenting the extensive efforts expended by both organizations.

For the Supply System, it would allow for final settlement of commercial issues and reduce the uncertainties regarding the estimate to complete WNP-3.

Thus all parties have much to gain if the work done to-date can be completed and formally documented.

Therefore, the Supply System again requests that the NRC review the report transmitted by Reference 1 as well as previous responses to the Staff questions and prepare a Safety Evaluation Report (SER) section for stiff clamps.

Should the NRC agree to perform the review and prepare a SER section, a meeting with the appropriate NRC Staff reviewers will allow our personnel to respond directly to any questions that may arise from the review of the Sunenary Evaluation Report.
