a NIAGARA M0 HAWK POWER CORPORATION NINE MILE POINT - UNIT 2 00CKET NO.-50-410 Interim Report for a Problem Concerning Rosemount Model 1153B Transmitters (55(e)-84-44)
Description of the Problem The problem concerns Model 1153 Series B pressure transmitters manufactured by Rosemount Incorporated after January 10, 1984.
Rosemount has identified a potential leakage path in the seal of the threads between the sensor module and the electronic-housing.
According to Rosemount, there is a possibility that this leak path could allow moisture from. the ambient surrounding environment -to enter the electronics housing during abnormal operating conditions and cause the transmitter to stop functioning.
Transmitter Mark Nos. 2RSS*PT109 and 2IAS*PT230 through 236 are affected by this problem.
These transmitters have no direct control function.
Pressure transmitter Mark No. 2RSS*PT109 monitors the pressure of the automatic depressurization system Tank No. 33 and provides a pressure indication at the remote shutdown panel.
Pressure transmitter Mark Nos. 2IAS*PT230 through 236 monitor the pressure of the automatic depressurization system accumulator Tank Nos. 32 through 38 Rosemount Incorporated is still investigating the corrective action.
Therefore, a final report will be submitted by January 21, 1985, t
