SUBJECT:
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS (ADEP) PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS Starting in 1972, the ADEP in the Atomic Energy Commission's Directorate for Licensing issued Project Instructions (PIs) to environmental projects persannel on a variety of issues. ADEP Pls predated the project manager's handbook, standard review plans (SRPs), and Environmental SRPs (ESRPs).
Although there is overlap between ADEP PIs and the current staff outdance, it is not apparent that ADEP Pls were replaced by more recent guidance nor
-withdrawn. With the dissolution of the environmental projects staff in 1980, this set of instructions fell into a state of disrepair.
In spite of the fact that a number of ADEP PIs serve as references in review documents (for 1
example, ESRP sections), they were never archived.
Ovar the last 6 months, we were successful in locating a number of partial sets of the ADEP Pls and have atter.pted to reconstruct a complete set for the record. While we will continue the search for the few outstanding PIs, it is useful to make the set available at this time for staff and public use. The listing-(that includes a number of voided or superseded PIs) and the rat of PIs that could be retrieved at this tire are enclosed.
