l nalytical work involving the Chilled Water Pump environment has Abeen completed to; the extent where, lar review of the existing -
- equipment qualification, the Licensee issabletto demonstrate a
. qualified life of : eight- ( 8) years under design conditions.
On ethis' basis,othe interim mitigating action described-in SPR 84-001 hasLbeen terminated,'i.e., the. fire doors to the Chilled Water

- Pump, Rooms have-been closed, and the' fire watch discontinued.
Nuclear? Engineering.is continuing-to review this condition in order'to=resolvefthe questions of 40. year equipment qualification
'and substantial safety. hazard determination per 10 CFR 21.
To supplement;the1 analysis, in-plant testing will be conducted.
It l's expected that analysis and testing can be completed by May 30,
