Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 subject: Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Changes to National Pollutant Discharge l

Elimination System Permit l

Gentlemen:

l This letter is being submitted in accordance with Limerick l

Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2, Environmental Protection Plan (EPP), Section 3.2 which stipulates that the NRC shall be notified within 30 days following the date of approval of a change to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.

On August 20, 1991, the NPDES permitting agency for LGS, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources (PA DER), approved the attached change to the LGS NPDES Permit No. PA 0051926.

We received notification of this approval on August 29, 1991.

The NRC had been previously notified that we were requesting this change to the LGS NPDES permit by our letter dated April 26, 1991.

This change permits the use of new chemical additives for controlling corrosion and biofouling in secondary cooling water systems at LGS.
