Summary of discussion:
- 1. Model LTR Revision a) Outline is acceptable to Reactor Systems Branch (Collins) and to Containment Branch (Drozd), provided j
the applicability to the containment is clearly delineated in each section. Drozd was also requested to l
provide input on any specific additional information that he would like to see in the report.
j l
- 2. Qualification LTR Supplement a) Uncertainty section looks skimpy (Collins). It was clarified that the uncertainties in the major model
)
parameters would be defined in this LTR. The actual uncertainty analysis would be documented in the Application LTR. Both LTRs are scheduled to be submitted simultaneously (March 31,96). The split of l
the material between reports and a roadmap is provided in ;he TAPD, Rev. B.
l b) The approach to treat the effects of mixing in the drywell will be discussed in the Application LTR.
j c) Choice of the nodalization for test facilities vs. SBWR will be treated through both scaling groups and nodalization studies as appropriate.
c) Numerical values of differences between data and predictions will be provided in addition to qualitative descriptions of goodness of comparisons.
d) Use of Ontario flydro data. Data will be used only for confin.,atory purposes (third party, non NQA-1 data). Comparisons will be included in Qualification LTR.
e) Effects of scaling distortions in test facilities. No general, quantitative method, logy exists for accounting for distortions. If the distortions are in the major parameters, some allowance wih have to be made for a scaling bias.
- 3. Prcliminary Validation Results a) These will be provided to give the NRC an early look at the TRACG predictions of data.
b) The schedules for these " quick look" reports will be provided to the NRC in eraly May.
- 4. An outline of the Appli:ation LTR Revision will be provided to the NRC in early May.
