O'Reilly Special Report Page Two September 19, 1983 CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE AND ACTIONS TAKEN On August 22, 1983, at 1005 hours0.0116 days <br />0.279 hours <br />0.00166 weeks <br />3.824025e-4 months <br />, with the Plant in Mode 1, the fireproofing for Control Building Room CB-36-02 was declared DEGRADED when a section of fireproofing was removed from the structural steel for construction modification activities.
There were no adverse consequences as a result of this occurrence because the room fire detectors were OPERABLE, and an hourly fire watch was established.
The affected fireproofing was removed, the modification performed, and the fireproofing repaired.
Action Station (a) of Technical Specification 3.7.10 ret 11res the inoperable fire rated assembly and/or sealing device to be OPERABLE within 7 days or submit a Special Report to the Commission within the next 30 days.
PLANS AND SCHEDULE FOR RESTORING TO OPERABLE STATUS The degraded fireproofing was repaired and declared OPERABLE on August 31, 1983, at 1530 hours0.0177 days <br />0.425 hours <br />0.00253 weeks <br />5.82165e-4 months <br />.
The Licensee plans no further action in regards to this event.
