Dear Dr. Weiss:
The purpo,e of this let;er is to inform the NRC that additional time is needed by Public Service Company of Colorado (PSC) to complete the preparation of the Decommissioning Funding Plan.
These efforts will result in a delay in the submittal of the Funding Plan beyond the commitment date previously established by PSC in References 1 and 2. PSC had previously informed the NRC that the i
Decommissioning Funding Plan would be submitted to the NRC in mid-October 1991. The Decommissioning Funding Plan is now scheduled for submittal by the end of November 1991.
PSC regrets any inconvenience caused by the delay in this submittal date.
However, the delay is necessary.to provide an update to the Decommissioning Cost Estiraate resulting from the change in (Se decommissioning start date from January 1992 to August 1992 due to spent fuel shipping problems, and to obtain

the Letter of Credit necessary to provide the financial assurance required by 10 CFR 50.75(e).
