BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) - TVA BFN UNIT 2 APPENDIX R SAFE SHUTDOWN PROGRAM The purpose of this letter lo to submit the current BFN Unit 2 Safe Shutdown Program (Enclosure).
Tne program was initially submitted to NRC on

April 14, 1989.
In reviewing this submittal, NRC raisod a concern pertaining to fire watches.
The concern is documented in an NRC Safety Evaluation Report, dated November 3, 1989.
Based on follow-up discussions, TVA changed the program and submitted the change to NPC on January 30, 1990.
- However, this change did ne' n. olve the NRC concern in the conduct of fire watches.
Accordingly, TVA-agreed to an additional change to the program.
The enclosure supersedes the BFN Safe Shutdown Program which was submitted on April'14, 1989.
This change has been made and is depicted by revision bars in the right margia in the enclosure.
