Unit 2 Cycle 7 Reload I

Attached are changes to the Catawba Nuclear Station Technical Specifications which will be required for operation of Catawba Unit 2 Cycle 7. Similar changes reflecting the use of Mark-BW fuel and Duke methodology have been submitted and approved for the operation of Catawba Nuclear Station as Amendment i12 for Unit 1.

The marked-up Technical Specifications pages'are included in Section 8 of the Catawba.

I Unit 2 Cycle 7 Reload Report (Attachment 1). In addition to the Technical Specifications changes being submitted as contained in the reload report, several miscellaneous changes of an administrative nature are also being submitted. These additional changes are being j

proposed to correct errors in nomenclature and to remove obsolete footnotes. As such, i

they are not considered reload related and although they are included in this submittal, they are not pan of the reload report. Attachment 2 contains the Technical Justification for the changes, and Attachment 3 contains the No Significant Hazards Analysis and Environmental Impact Statement.

It is requested that this submittal receive timely review and approval in order to meet the schedule for the Catawba Unit 2, Cycle 7 stanup. Mode 4 is currently scheduled for June 14, 1994; therefore, approval of this submittal is requested by June 7,1994.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 (b)(1), the appropriate South Carolina official is being provided a copy of this amendment request.
