Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Technical Specification Change Request -(TSCR) No. 193, Revision 1, and Response to NRC Comments Ref:

GPUN Letter C311-92-2022, dated 4/13/92 TSCR 193 (Rev. 1) proposed a revision to the inservice inspection program for Once-Through Steam Generator (OTSG) tubes.

This revised inspection' program is based on the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Steam Generator Inspection Guidelines (Report No. EPRI-NP-6201, Revision 2).

This revised program would increase the OTSG tube sample size from 3% to 20% per OTSG during each refueling outage. Expansion of the initial 20% sample would be based on the location and nature of the defect discovered, and 100% of the tubes would be inspected over a five refueling cycle interval.

In light of recent discussions with the NRC, we propose to withdraw TSCR 193 (Rev.1) pending the final resolution of these Guidelines between the Staff and EPRI.
