LIMERICK GENERATING STATION EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
INSPECTION (Combined Inspection Nos. 50-352/93-19,50-353/93-19)
Enclosed is the report of the announced, September 28-30,1993 inspection, led by Mr. D. Silk,
of Limerick Generating Station Emergency Preparedness (EP) and of the full-participation,
annual EP exercise. Our inspection findings were based on observations by the inspectors,
discussions with your staff, and reviews of documents. At the end of the inspection, the
preliminary NRC findings were dis < sed with you and members of your staff.
Overall, the on-site response to the exercise scenario was very good. The crew correctly
identified, classified and declared the event using the appropriate Emergency Action Levels
(EALs) in a timely manner. Exercise strengths were communications and command and control.
No weaknesses were identified; however, several areas for potential improvement were noted.
These are discussed in the enclosed inspection report.
