Dear Mr. Yasinsac:
RE: NPDES Permit #SC0001848 (:mC SNM 1107)
In response to our effluent exceeding the Total Suspended Solids parameter monthly average for the month of June, the following evaluation is submitted.
The total solids parameter averaged 41.3 pounds per day for the period June 1,1993 through June 30, 1993, exceeding the NPDES permit limit of 32 pounds per day monthly average. No problems were encountered with exceeding the daily maximum. The situation originated from excessive heat and resultant algae growth in the sanitary and industrial batch process lagoons.
We have reviewed our processing, sampling, and laboratory methods and are currently meeting all suspended solids limitations. We have increased chlorination in the lagoons to insure against recurrence of the situation.
Our facility is currently in full compliance with all provisions and limitations specified in our NPDES permit.
