This is to inform you that the subject organization has been issued a license by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the possession and use of a nickel-63 foil source for use in a Shimadsu gas chromatograph l
for sample analysis. This notification is in accordance with NRC policy i
of informing public officials when organisations located in their juris-diction are first licensed.
l Included among the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's responsibilities are the regulation of the use of radioactive materials for industrial applications, medical diagnosis and treataset, applied research and development, academic research, and in consumer products. A license is intended to provide reasonable assurance that the public health and safety is adequately protected by prescribing specific conditions and require-usats for the use of authorized radioactive sources.
i We will be periodically performing unannaunced inspections of this facility to insure safe use of such licensed materials. Inspection reports are routinely made available to the public following proprietary review.
